A well traveled woman whose spirit is resolutely independent and clairvoyant Emmanuelle Bourgueil is worthy of her father Jacques Laurent, she has managed the Carl Gustaf Hotel for many years now.

A function that she puts even more passion into since the painful passing of her father for who she had so much love and respect. She continues on forward with the loving support of her
mother, her husband Christophe Bourgueuil who co-manages with her and their two children Victor and Matthieu.
Built in 1991, the Carl Gustaf Hotel will be 20 years old in December: Jacques' dream, he would say that "it is the most beautiful hotel on the island, even though he recognized beauty
elsewhere. Demanding, almost fanatical, my father was a man of the heart, a self made man, very generous, but he had a motto, never betray my trust."
He left school at the age of fourteen but has always loved to innovate and research. When
Emmanuelle was still a baby he created an invention that would revolutionize the building world and bring him wealth and success. PRB was born and his adventure began. Jean-Jacques, Emmanuelle's brother now runs the enterprise.
ln 1983, he discovered St. Barth and from his own sketches he built the Carl Gustaf Hotel that overlooks Gustavia harbor where the sunsets are legendary. "My father would always be drawing, he would scribble on the corner of a table. My son Matthieu would cali him Grand pa Scribble. He gave very few compliments but his silence could be considered as one. 1 think he was proud of me, 1 certainly hope so."Emmanuelle !ravels a lot. Today the Carl Gustaf Hotel, that has been completely renovated, includes a very beautiful restaurant.
